Jeff's main stage axe is a
custom-made electro-acoustic MIDI guitar created by
Turner
Guitars of Santa
Cruz, CA. His Turner Renaissance guitar (in addition to
having great classic tone) has a custom piezo pickup and
circuitry which interfaces with Roland GR-series guitar
synthesizers. Jeff can layer multiple instruments at once,
*live*, thus creating the big sound you hear without the use
of pre-recorded or sequenced music. Turner Renaissance
guitars possess the perfect combination of clear acoustic
sound and high-performance MIDI capability. The guitars pictured on the left
are the first two production models of the Turner
Renaissance. The guitar on the right (#1) belongs to
Jeff's former partner Jani.

Vlado Proskjurnjak
Hybrid Classic/Flamenco Guitar
Jeff's unique classic/flamenco guitar was custom-made for him in 1988 by Vlado Proskjurnjak, a prominent luthier of Russian descent, located in the small village of Varazdin, Croatia. In Vlado's small shop, Jeff hand-picked the woods and the rosette for around the sound hole. The instrument features a solid cedar top, traditional abalone-inlaid friction-peg tuning, and back and sides fashioned from partially petrified oak, estimated to be over three thousand years old! The instrument has been fitted with a Highlander pickup system, with internal condenser mic. Great projection and tone, and truly a one-of-a-kind instrument.

Here's world-renowned classical guitarist Liona Boyd and Jeff checking out his Go Guitar, a very cool travel axe custom-made for him by Sam Radding in San Diego (Go-Guitars.com). Taken in Liona's music room at her home in Beverly Hills, CA, the picture also shows Liona's Ramirez (left) and Vasquez-Rubio classics.
